The Center for Agricultural Research in Suriname (CELOS) was founded in 1967. At the CELOS, an integral research is carried out in the field of agriculture, forestry and management of natural resources. This often happens in collaboration with (inter) national institutes and universities, the local government and NGOs.
CELOS is also active in the field of education and training and offers students of the Anton de Kom University of Suriname (AdeKUS) and the Natuurtechnisch Instituut in Engineering studies (NATIN) the opportunity to do research.
Our departments and supporting laboratories are responsible for drafting and implementing research programs and projects, including stakeholders, rural communities, farmers and entrepreneurs.
