Projects & Experiments: Experiments: Composting
COMPOSTING

CELOS is experimenting with different compositions of compost to recommend farmers when using organic fertilizers, based on what basic material they have in their immediate
surroundings. In collaboration with the department of Plant Propagation, two compost heaps where made at the CELOS plant. The objective of this ongoing project is to provide farmers with an appropriate compositing protocol, which applies to the available material of the farmers. Advantages of compost preparation:
- Increases the oprganic matter of the soil
- Maintains the soil life
- Improves the conservation of the soil and increases  the water retention capacity
- Improves the airation of the soil
